Due to adding an external door where the current run of heating pipes is and partly because i need to get this part done before the kitchen is done I'm contemplating the following design which will avoid the door and the kitchen which will have underfloor. The kitchen is the other side of the door on the right so i can have a manifold under the boiler. The 15mm pipework to the 4 upstairs and 3 downstairs rads is already in place and not intending to change. Its mainly the issue of having the run going up first I'm unsure about but can't see why it would be a problem. Does it seem a reasonable plan?

What size are the 4 and 3 rads off of the 15mm??

Need to be very careful, 15mm will only flow a certain amount heat at standard flow rates over a certain distance and temp drops (~4kw @ 1.2m/s on average) and with that kind of setup, balancing will be crucial.

I appreciate what you're saying but the current system is 22mm for just a meter then 15mm to that one rad just above the boiler. and 15mm to everything else. It will have to be better balanced with this but even then having those individual ones off the 22 i'll be well focused on balancing once its done

Just need to be careful. If those rads exceed the amount of heat that the pipes can supply then either they'll take an awful long time to warm up fully or they won't heat up fully at all. See it many time before.

I've taken some out but even with 7 rads on one 15mm feed they are getting decently hot now. New capacitor made all the difference with that. If the rads were giving up the heat faster it might be more obviously lacking. We'll see but I expect 4 upstairs rads on one 15mm branch will be fine for us. I'll put insulation on the under floor pipes as I gain access to them which should help
