Is it likely that damp problems might occur if cavity wall insulation (Ecobead Paltinum) is injected to top up traditional polystyrene board cavity wall insulation?
It is of course possible depending on the state of the cavity and the wall ties but in the vast majority of cases it is fine. Just think how common cavity wall insulation is and if there were that many cases of it causing damp then it would have died off.
That said should it cause problems it is nightmarish to fix.
I will probably have to go for it as part of the wall was the outer wall of an integral garage which was converted into a room, which, as it turns out, has no cavity wall insulation.
How much of a nightmare is it to fix? Is it not a case of removing bricks in the area of the wall where the cavity has been bridged?
