I've got three sets of lights in my living/dining room.

1) 6 x 50W LV Halogen
2) 4 x 50W LV Halogen
3) 1 x normal mains wall light

I've currently got a normal 3G Dimmer switch on these but I'd like to replace it with a 3G touch dimmer - that can be controlled by remote.

The transformers used on the LV lighting are all these (max 60V):

I'm looking at these dimmers http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/VLIS1403.html

I realise for rating I have to add up the transformers rather than the bulbs so in my case I have a max of 6x50W on each gang so need a minimum of a 300W model. Am I correct here?

Next up it says max five transformers per circuit - I've got six on one. Is this a killer? And if so, does anyone know of any other products that might help me?

Or has anyone got any experience of putting these kinds of things in?

Don't worry; I'll be getting an electrician to do the hard/dangerous work. But like to know what's going on myself, first.

Thanks.

Fat Hert (OBE),

Do as the manufacturer recommends.

Done to limit problems with inrush currents and problematic circulating harmonic currents.
