Hi,
As posted previously ( regarding replacing transformer ) the new transformer has arrived. New problem.. how to connect it ?
one side 240v, the easy part, it is marked L N
but on the 12 v side there are 8 connections ?? the hard part ! :confused:
HELP !!! (please)

If there is no spec with the transfomer, you will need to get a multimeter and test pairs on the output to find the pair that gives 12v.

BEWARE I did this on a transformer once and forgot about the mains side, my arm brushed on it and OOUUCHH!!

Cover the mains side with some sort of insulation if possible before switch on.

the secondary side of the tran is 11.8v. the drawing on the casing shows

l l l l x l l l l

that above is a very crude drawing
l = terminals
x = lamp ? in the drawing the x has a circle around it

apologies if i am dragging this out, juts desperate to get my lights back on on time for santa !
:cool:

the secondry side has 8 connections to make life easier.

its so that you do not have to cram all the wires into one pair of terminals, but since your lights are already wired i would suggest you use the outer two terminals of the secondry (low voltage) side and ignore the other 6
