tree roots

i have a laburnam tree need to take it down as roots are lifting block paving and heading towards drains and house if i cut it down how do i kill the roots? can anyone help please

Normal Glyphosphate will not really work. You need a woody killer like 'SBK brushwood killer' or similar.

Cut it down as low as possible then dril or gouge some holes in the stump and pour a good dose of the stuff into the holes then roughly cover it for a few days to keep the rain off it.

Your problem will be that as the roots die and eventually rot your block paving may sink in parts.
