Trevi shower - cannot adjust temperature from hot

Hi, got into the shower this morning and got scolded by the water being hot. Turned temp handle down to cold but water remained hot. Been having showers for over 2.5 years without problem. The shower is a Trevi according to the ceramic temp handle.
Any clues?
