Trianco Aztec 4kw boiler question

That part number (501808) is lifted from the Trianco Gold 4Kw manual - spare parts pg 21, seems it may be a 1/4" bsp not a 3/8"?? How did the guy from Watts confirm it was 3/8"?

He didn’t I’d already measured with a vernier, he did suggest that if I have a smaller bsp thread that a bush to bring it to the correct thread would probably work. In the meantime BHL confirmed that the Trianco unit is out of stock with no restock date.

So I visited local plumbing supplier who confirmed that the smaller unit arrived this morning was 1/8 bsp and the one I took out is 3/8, so I’ve ordered a bush to suit. Assuming that I can get it all back together Thursday then I’ll check out the PRV again for 24 hours at 2 bar or near.

Do you know why the system pressure should be around 1 bar when the EV that arrived was charged to 3.5 bar, since that would suggest that a system pressure of around 2 bar would not cause the EV to fail?

The new EV will be pre-charged to 3.5bar because it's probably now used for a small unvented setup (30L) so it's pre-charged to what the Pressure Relief Valve would be set to lift at.

In you application, it'll have a bespoke setup where the pre-charge is set to balance the system pressure - ~1bar

Strange why the gauge part number comes out as a 1/4" BSP fitting, no matter, if a 3/8" is the one that fits then that's the one to use.
