Hi All,

Having replaced the fan unit I now need to fit a new thermostat to a Trianco TRG45 Solid fuel boiler (deep joy!). Is this a task a non electrician/plumber can do or should I get a plumber. Switching the wires seems simple enough but the issue is the thermostat itself. It appears to be soldered to the unit at one end and 'buried' in the boiler at the other. (Technical I know).

90% of plumbers will not have a clue. It is however an easy task.
Trace the route of the capillary and remove the two top screws securing the side panel, and lean it to the side
Isolate the electric supply and remove spade terminals on stat.
Remove any split pin or plastic bush retainer and pull the capillary out. Simples!!
