4 ring ceramic hob top and bottom ovens.
Wife saw a spark one of the hobs beneath the ceramic/glass hob plate.
All lights went out and stopped working.
RCD radial circuit dedicated to appliance iso switch at counter top connection unit behind oven. Cooker is at least 8 years old (that's when we got it included with the house purchase). Have a live all the way around the circuit to the cooker but batteries in multi meter dead. Suspect the oven is too!? Common connection plate at rear splits to each cicuit rings cookers. Worryingly the RCD didn't trip.
Is it dead and gone. Am I wasting my time going out to buy a new 9v battery for my multi-meter.
Plumber BTW.... and the wife insisted I try EVERY avenue to identify fault before we go buy a new cooker.
