Hi,

I am carrying out a loft conversion and spec states TRISO over cellotex insulation boards. The cost is very high, I have seen a brand on e bay called SUPAFOIL SFBA 2/1. Is this equivalent/suitable to use? or can anyone please recommend an equivalent to TRISO that is more affordable?

Thanks

Why bother with a multi foil at all, as you know it needs to be used in conjunction with a rigid board anyway in order to comply, the space savings therefore are not that great. You need to find the R-Value of your specified insul, then find the R-Value of your ebay stuff. Provided the R-value is higher it can be substituted, alternatively you may just need to up the thickness of your rigid board insul.

Suppliers who do not make their R-Value easily available should be viewed with suspicion!

Web-site for this product looks very dubious : packed with unverifiable claims, but not one single hard fact.
