Hi all, it's the OP here (I changed my username due to security reasons). All is ok with my Tritan Madrid now. The problem indeed turned out to be a blown "burst disc" which was caused by water being forced back into the system by a multi-setting shower head. Thanks very much indeed for your invaluable advice.
