Hi guys,

I installed an electric shower 8 years ago and have noticed over the years that it's pressure has slowly diminished. As it cuurently stands it's probably churning out 2/3 lpm compared to my combi shower that can churn out in excess of 22 lpm.

Any hinters on possible causes ? I do live in a hard water area.

It's choked up internally with limescale. Try it without the shower head is it any better? It could just be the head choked up. Either way, citric acid powder, dissolved in water, will remove it. You can buy it in Wilko for not a lot.

It's not the shower head, even without the head the output is very low.

I guess I will need to replace the heating element, is that a straightforward task or is it better to just install a new unit ?
