Triton Mixer Bar Shower

I am fitting a Triton mixer bar shower in the bathroom, I have done the pipework but where the valve unit screew onto the outlets it leaks.

Can someone tell me if there are any washer/fibre washers I should be using or is it a matter of tightening up the cuplers very tight? The instruction book makes no reference to any washers etc..

should be two rubber 3/4 washers inside

I found them at long last - 3/4" fibre washers, I have another question, the chrome nuts have been scratched can you get replacement ones? also what tool do you use to remove the hexigon shaped reatining nut to fit a flow limiter - any idea?
