the water flow is ok even though the low pressure light is on but the water has stopped heating up. If you turn the flow right down on the maximum heat setting, the water warms very slightly. Can anyone help, please?

Triton make the worst products in the market place.

I bought one of their shower pumps and it lasted THREE days.

They were not interested in even replacing it and I wasted three hours on a Saturday afternoon fitting a different make of pump for the customer and all at my cost!!! Triton had my money and that was all that interested them!

Stay away from their products!

I think that too low a pressure stops the heating from being activated.

Make sure the centre pin on top of the stabiliser valve is activating
the micro switch on the base of the power selector.

Doesn't the low pressure stop it from heating?

the only thing is that the shower's been working well up to this point with the low pressure light on constantly. However, thanks for taking the time...

He does say the low pressure light is on!

Yes but you can't go by the low pressure neon being on to give you a true fault.
The LP m/switch only powers the neon nothing else so the pin could still be rising and be fully functional but give LP neon. So the heating fault lies elsewhere.
If the pins not rising fully then we go down a different route.

Have you had the cover off yet ?

So if the LP switch only powers the light and does not itself inhibit the heater then does it really serve any useful purpose?

It worries me the idea of DIYers opening electric shower units when 70% of those that I see are not supplied from an RCD !

Not really as you've probably seen not all showers have a LP neon.

I've not had the cover off yet because I'm not sure how to test for the signs that you mention. If you've time, could you outline a procedure assuming I've already removed the cover and turned the mains off of course. Thanks again ..

This is the top of the stabiliser valve with the pressure pin in the centre that rises when shower on.
The pin pushes up the white plastic part to hit the m/switch (The m/switch only operates the LP neon).
Behind the power selector above the white plastic part has 2 prongs that when raised hits 2 m/switches for 2 elements.
The power selector dial has 2 cams which rotate on the 2 prongs which move on/off the m/switches depending on power selected.

You'll need power on to see whats happening.

Hang on, the power was on but I hadn't actually turned the shower on. I'll go back and check that...
The switch does work and I can see the switch behind moving up but I can't see a difference with the change of power setting. I'm not sure how to look for that.
Can you advise further, please...thanks

But is it rising enough because your LP neon isn't going out.
When the shower is on and you see the pin activate the m/switch your neon is staying on, now with a screwdriver see if you can push the m/switch in more the neon should go out.

If it does when you do it but not on it's own with the pin the pin is not rising enough.

You won't see that it's behind the grey plate.

I can push the switch a little further and the light does indeed go out then. And!... the water comes out hotter.I've noticed that the piston mechanism moves the whole switch assembly up slightly when it activates. Is this the problem? What would be a good fix to stabilise it? Great explaining! please go on...
