The girls school strike is an interesting one. Multiple IRGC targets were hit with pinpoint accuracy and negligible collateral damage. No, from leaks in the US it was because Huckabee and Kushner decided that Iran weren't going to give enough ground. The main sticking point was apparently the refusal to rely on the US for nuclear fuel. To give regional background Iran had previously agreed to rely on France for fuel but that deal was taken away later, so Iran doesn't trust the west as a supplier and wanted to use Russia.

The deal was probably along the same lines as that given to Palestinians, accept the unaccaptable or we'll attack, again.
