The only military alternative to boots on the ground
Doubt they went for an Apache, probably got in the way. Either way the mid terms are getting closer
The US has been firing on civilian vessels in the Hormuz straights. It may have been involved in enforcing their blockade.
The need to take down the IRGC is becoming increasingly urgent.

Making up Foreign policy after a bad bucket of KFC is not going to go well.

God knows how many wars he has stopped so far.
Probably the ones where there's no USA benefit- but folks know which one he started, and that too without Congress approval or a plan!

With the Russians and Chinese in the background supplying the Iranians with intelligence and weapons , I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.The need to take down the IRGC is becoming increasingly urgent.
