trvs and olives

hi just a quick question. when connecting trvs to rads i understand the copper pipe giving or taking the water from the valves needs a olive on.

1 is it the same for the end that goes into the valve from the rad end?

2 this is a really silly one does the olive go into the adaptor end going into rad or onto the other side of the adaptor going into the valve. silly i know just want to make sure i do it right
