Tumbling cylinder?

Can you help please?
I am trying to make a tumbling cylinder using water and compressed air.
My diagram here explains where the problem lies.

The thinking behind this is:

A container of high-pressure air can force water upwards, because it's pressure is higher than the water.

At the same time the water is heavier that the air, thus creating a top heavy machine.

So don't take my contraption too literally. Is there a way to get this principle to work? Thanks.

You could make most of that work!

But any energy will come from the compressed air source!

There is a tumbling bucket in my local Indonesian restaurant!

PROBLEM
How to get the existing air pressure to force the water back up again.
(Automatically, without adding more pressure)

Apply heat...to the lower air space.

It's called thermodynamics!

I suppose you could have a small relief valve at either end to release steam, but then you'd need to be able to top up the water too. Getting complicated.
