I have 2005 2.0 diesel Jag x-type, has developed a "Wheeze" when revs hit 1500(ish)rpm, dies off shortly above those revs, so it does this several times as you pull away going through the gears. Onlt seems to happen under load (ie if I rev the engine when stationary does not happen). To be honest sounds more like it comes from the air vent under windscreen (even tho air con off).
What are the symptoms of turbo problems? or could it be an air con prob even tho switched off and why engine speed related?
