I have a newly installed Worcester CDi Compact Gas Combi which has started to switch on once the cold tap has been run and then turned off. This appears to be an intermittent problem although I’ve noticed that running the cold tap at full blast and then turning it off very quickly does appear to trigger the problem more frequently. Any help with this problem would be much appreciated.

Check for dead legs on the pipes (usually in the loft). Get the installer back.

As said its most likely a dead leg because the flow turbine on those will only work if the water is traveling in the right direction. A mini expansion vessel may solve your problem.

Thanks for your help gigz. There's no longer any water pipes going into the loft since the combi was fitted and the plumber also showed me where he'd cut off any old pipes not needed to prevent 'dead legs'. Do you have any ideas what could be causing the problem?
