Hey everyone (future student here thinking about enrolling into college to study the trade).

I have an old boiler (not in use totally disconnected) which I use to learn about the mechanics of boilers systems. In which direction (clockwise or anti-clockwise) are the small black valves attached to pipes on the heating return connection valve and heating flow connection valve meant to be turned to?

Also what is the difference between turning then clockwise or anti-clockwise? I would be happy to hear back.

Cheers

Sorry wrong pic those valves belong to the active connected system which is what I look at when I am mucking about on the old boiler. On that pic are those valves turned the correct way not that I would touch them at all.
