I've just installed 2 3.9m box lintels in a cavity wall.
However one appears to be twisted! If I get it upright at one end, it's out of true by 10mm or so at the other end. The other lintel has gone in fine.
My question is, I suppose, does this happen? What can have caused it? They arrived 3 weeks ago and I put them on 2 x pieces of timber on the garden path. Surely it's not something I could have done? If I can twist a lintel I can't really trust it to hold up a wall!!??
The annoying thing is that they took about a month to arrive (steel shortages, I think??), and I've got the props on hire for another week!
I'll contact the suppliers of course!
