Two steamers and an electric sander = no power

Yeah or the high current in combination with a loose wire in the socket has resulted in a fault to earth?

Oj, you might want to (first turn all the power off at the main switch) check behind the socket faceplate the steamers were plugged into for signs of damage or overheating before you go moving fridges etc

Two steamers is probably about 4KW or so.
A 4KW load connected to a single point designed to supply a maximum of 3KW may have damaged either the socket or wiring. The Great British ring final circuit  was never designed to be used in that way. The circuit design assumes the load will be reasonably evenly distributed around the whole ring.

Dampnes or moisture from using your steamers around any electrical accessory fed from any circuit in your house might lead to a 'low insulation' fault somewhere in the installation.
In the case of a N>E insulation fault, it may only trip the RCD when a large load is connected to any circuit in the house.

Either way, better to sort it out now, whilst opening up walls and floors to get at accessories and cables is more a minor inconvenience rather than a decorating disaster.
