Two tier justice, place your bets

if I left Dover in a dinghy and headed towards France, would the coastguard bring me back from whence I came or take me to France?

No they'd call the RNLI and say someone has left a dog on a boat.

woof

"On Tuesday, RNLI chief executive Peter Sparkes described the online and physical abuse faced by its volunteers as "wholly unacceptable in a civilised society", adding that the charity and "our crews strive only to prevent people like you and me from drowning at sea".

Sparkes also cited data from the charity which showed only 109 of 9,058 RNLI lifeboat launches last year were for people "in distress in the Channel" - 1.2% of its total rescue work. He added around 95% of small boats were intercepted by the UK Border Force"

It appears that 'master bates' is yet again exaggerating something he believes is a 'problem' that in fact is something that hardly exists
I've called this selective reporting out before. That 1.2% figure is misleading if applied to the specific stations that actually cover the Dover Strait, though, because it's diluted by hundreds of stations elsewhere in the UK and Ireland that see zero migrant-related launches (e.g. stations in Scotland, Wales, or inland waterways). The stations that actually cover this stretch — Dover, Ramsgate, Dungeness, Walmer, Littlestone-on-Sea — are the ones repeatedly named in incident reports as responding to Channel crossing "shouts," alongside their normal workload of leisure-boat incidents, fishing vessel call-outs, swimmers in difficulty, etc.

Its significantly into double digit %ages.

The RNLI are a softer target for the niqab clad traitorous cowards.

Standard.

Narrow statistical observations only highlight the disgusting threat to rnli volunteers.

Indeed...

'master bates' calls the figures regarding the tiny percentage of RNLI operations regarding the small boats 'selective reporting'...

Then tries to justify his 'logic' with irrelevant theories whilst all he is doing is simply confirming the facts!

No doubt he'll apply the same 'logic' to the increased donations to the RNLI after the disgusting intimidation of it's members!

Why did you have to make up some nasty bubble that the RNLI and Coastguard were doing something illegal when the were'nt.
International frameworks like the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and the International Convention on Maritime Search and Rescue (SAR) mandate that any vessel—whether a commercial ship or a state coastguard—must render assistance to anyone in distress at sea, regardless of their location, nationality, or legal status. [1, 2]

I'm as daft as brush and everyone knows

SOLAS ch 5 Regulation 33 actually. I see your AI has replaced your brain again. Hint the references are junk. You really must get in the habit of checking them

Are you going to argue that the RNLI are either a commercial ship or state coastguard.

BINGO!
The "modern" sense of the word AKA anyone who disagrees with Leftists.

Fascism, as you describe it, doesn't exist as a political party any more - but the idea of Fascism is still alive and thriving these days.

It simply changed it's brand name, wore a new uniform and affected the minds of successive generations.

Not so much 'anyone who disagrees with the left', but a hive mind of people who would see Democratic ideals curtailed in favour of an authoritarian answer to the problems we face today.

‘any vessel”
Keep dithering.

Again the 12 mile rule is extended from the point equal distant to the other 12 mile limit of the other country that borders a shared channel, ie the middle that's why its contiguous, ie the 12 mile rule expands to fill that half space... its an extension of that space, that's how we boarded that russian tanker and did not break international law.

There is No legal framework that prevents ANY vessel from rescuing lives at sea.
