Anyway, project delayed. My tyre irons got cancelled by the seller. Given the unusual size of them, I am suspecting a scam of some sort. I have now ordered 24 inch ones for the same amount of money. Without the flat bars, there's no way to move this project forward. The flatness distributes the force and lowers the chance of paint damage. A round rod such as a screwdriver concentrates the force at a single point/line and confirmed to be able to damage paint.

There’s a very cheap specific piece of equipment we use for that and it’s not a tyre lever. I’ll give you a clue….on second thoughts, I won’t, so you’d better get googling.
