Hello

Just about to order a UFH system for our renovation and was hoping to check if there are any bad reports on any of the brands we're considering.

Most of the quotes we have use either Heat Miser or Myson controls which seem pretty standard and reliable once configured and understood.

Pipe branding is (increasing quote price) Hetta->Henco->Rehau->Speedfit->Giacomini.
All claim to meet the standards required for UFH pipe and carry and 50year guarantee. Wether or not the manufacturer will still be about in 20+years is another matter!

With prices varying from £1400 (online supplier) - £3800 (local installer - no warranty unless he installs for £1500 extra) is there any significant quality differences?

Pipes are Pert-Al-Pert, Pex-Al-Pex or PEX. Im told the alu barrier pipes are more robust, better oxygen resistant and much easier to work with for ufh.

Is there anything in particular avoid?

Cheers Neil

have a look at www.ufhtradedirect.co.uk to compare prices. Pert Al Pert are much easier to lay as they hold their form. i've used the manifold from the above site and they are of very good quality.
