I know this has probably been covered hundreds of times but after searching I can't decide.
I'm having an extension on the rear of our house. The kitchen area is having a wet ufh of Solfex warmboard. A 18mm overlay system ontop of the concrete slab. I've been recommended to lay screed boards ontop then I can travertine tile to that 45sqm.
Do I simply loose lay the screed boards then flexible adhesive the tiling?
Also should I use 6/9/12mm boards? 12mm works best as it'll bring the floor level back to its original height.

I think what your describing will be a "floating floor" i.e. not fixed to the substrate.

I believe that these can be tricky for tiling and you'd be best to check with the manufacturer what floor covering is compatible (stone may be a no no) and how they recommend fixing it (and whether they guarantee it).
