Hi ,

Hope someone can help.
We have had the CH system drained for a few months.
Have this weekend tried to refill with not much luck. :(

It is a gravity fed, pumped system.
The F&E tank fills, but then not able to bleed radiators.
Have managed to bleed a couple, but its not right, (i.e. can hear air, then get very small trickle ofwater or no water...)
There are drain points on all downstairs radiators and one in the airing cupboard.. and one above the boiler, on the return pipe.
Can anyone advise what should be done. ???
Let me know if you need more info etc...

Thanks
Chris

Cold feed may well be blocked / restricted ?? from exp tank ?????

Do it, or get it done properly. Remove the blockage. If left, it can lead to pumping over.

Hi,

Thanks all for posts.

Have now managed (with much persistence) to fill and bleed all downstairs and 1 upstairs rad.
2 upstairs rads left and they are going slow! ;)

I think it may be an air block?
I am doing 1 rad at a time....
Looked into Cold feed and I don't 'think' its this...

Stick a hose pipe on a drain cock and reverse fill it up. - will do last if still can't fill these two rads....

Not sure what you mean 45years.. I'm trying to do it?

Hi All,
Got the radiators filled.. but now the boiler will not ignite..
Its agloworm Flexicom hx...
No fault codes, programmer is on, but the pump is not running..
Any ideas grstefully received!

Chris

Take out the centre screw of the pump and spin it with a screw driver to see if it turns freely. It should do.

When you take out the centre screw a small amount of water will come out.

OP, how can you be so sure the feed pipe is not partially blocked?

The time to deal with it is when its drained!

Tony

HI,

After all advice, we found a leak!!
So drained and refilled the system, and this time rads filled immediately, no problem.. ;)

So that sounds to me like the feed pipe is not blocked.. ??
