HI, have just bought kichen lights wich are switched . The power supply cable has to be fitted to a fused plug, the other end plugs into the lamp this is two pin and can be fitted either way, I thought the brown wire had to make or break on the built in switch other wise the unit would be live back to the switch .Is this ok? Thanks

What?

I think you're questionning the polarity issue with fig-8 style connectors.

As long as you fit the switch in the brown wire, its fine. There could be an issue if you permenantly connect the flex to a lighting circuit. If this were the case, you'd be best to fit a double-pole switch, which switches live and neutral together.
