Undercoat and paint roller!?

Is it OK to use a foam paint roller for undercoat. I'm painting a flat door which has been previously varnished.

I've brush painted Zinsser B-I-N on and am going to Dulux Undercoat before glossing.

Well I took the plunge and what a good job it does. Quick and easy. Just used down strokes to finish off.
