I have a wet underfloor heating system, installed recently in an extension. The remainder of the house is heated by traditional radiators, fed off an oil central heating system. When the boiler is running to heat the radiators would putting the ufh on at the same time use much more oil, ie, if the boiler is running anyway. My wife works from home and has radiators running during the day. Thanks for any help.

The UFH should have had its own programmable controls installed and be allowed to sort itself out.

The more you try and interfere the more fuel you are likely to consume, or the less comfortable you'll be.

Assuming of course it was put in properly.

The UFH has far longer warm up than radiators, typically 1-2 hours compared with 10-15 minutes!

UFH also stays warm for longer too, again often 1-2 hours.

That means that it needs to be started much earlier than the rads and ended sooner too.
