underfloor heating

has anyone installed underfloor heating themselves rather getting a heating engineer involved?

i am not too sure if i am confident enuff to be notching joists etc?

also i have 2 quotes from Continental & NU Heat, does anyone have experience of either and whether they could reccomend one?

r u thinking of fitting it upstairs or downstairs or both.is it new build or revamp. in screed or below timber there are lots of options.

downstairs only (living/dining/kitchen/hall)

and the floors are timber joisted as its an old 1800's house

plus half of of the lounge has a cellar under it...this make any difference?
