Instructions for replacing a washer and O ring to fix leaking mixer tap, all very simple. However, we can't unscrew the pack nut on the tap. The nut is starting to get mangled through my effort, so it's not lack of strength that's the problem. We've tried heating it but that hasn't worked. Any ideas?

Do you mean back nut, ie. the one under the sink.

If you do, get a 'tap back nut box spanner'.

Sometimes its difficult to get enough purchase in situ.

Can you remove the part or tap, and place in a vice (protecting chrome with cloth)?

If not, buy an extra long reach socket for the nut, because if it gets rounded off, it will be a reet buugger!

What are you trying to fix, a dripping tap, or is the 'O' ring between the monobloc and sink leaking due to tap being loose on the sink

You don't need to remove the tap to fit a new washer or tap reviver
