It does have an internal bypass but always good to have an external autobypass for proper control, especially if the whole system is using valves. With a combi maybe not so much but depends on how you control the radiators at the moment.
Thanks Rab, so would you recommend keeping it? Not sure on what you mean by control the radiators? We have a digital thermostat that we use for temperature if that’s what you mean?
No, no need to keep that manual one. If your system uses TRV's and they can all shut at the same time then it can be advisable to fit an autobypass just to maximise flow through the boiler on overrun when they all shut down, until the heat in the boiler is dissipated.
Thanks very much for you help. I really appreciate it. All the radiators do have TRV’s on. So just to get this clear in my head I can get rid of the manual valve and the pipe connecting and just run them through the wall individually?
There shouldn't be one on the radiator which is the same room as the wall thermostat. If in doubt you can close the gate vale on the manual TRV and just check everything still works ok.
