Just moved into a new house and the rad in my bathroom is running much hotter than any of the others. Does any one know the reason for this?[/quote]

No, out of all my rads (10) only 3 have thermostats (bedroom rads). The bathroom will sometimes get too hot to even touch .

Many bathroom rads are used as a bypass when your heating/hot water shuts down. Normally this is on a 2 port valve system. Or it could be piped into the HW circuit. It maybe that the heat is getting to it far more quickly than the other. Again more system info required!

Bathroom rads, and also towel warmers, are commonly plumbed from the DHW circuit, not from the CH circuit. This being the case it ought to be hotter.

If you feel that it's dangerously hot then the boiler thermostat might be set too high.

sime not a problem could be dangerous if you got out of the bath and got to near it naked ouccccccchhhhhhhhhhh. and very dangerous for kids . i dont have my boiler turned up so they get red hot very dangerous for children .

Granted yes but not a problem of heating to be dangerous or anything if it is of great concern shot a trv on

You could turn down the lockshield.

I have fitted my bathroom rad so that it is "always on" so I throttle down the lockshield, otherwise it could steal flow from the rest of the system (it is very close to the pump).

Mine is not used as a bypass.

Again suffolklad any radiator when on will cause an ouccchhh when touching it naked.
