(up to) £40k golden goodbye for asylum seekers.

Fleeing a war zone is not the only reason for applying for asylum.

Of course asylum seekers plan their next move. Did you think there's a bus stop on the corner where they can wait for the next people smuggler to come along?
Yeah whatever’s. You keep admiring their great planning. You’re not alone there are other suckers like you too.

Knowing something does not equate with agreeing with it.
I know that bullfighting is still practised in Spain, It doesn't mean I agree with it.

On Debate Night this week (think Scottish QT) Lorna Slater from Scottish Greens was bleating on about letting these illegals work. Along the lines of 'we should be letting them work, give them jobs, that way they are contributing, paying tax, and feel like members of the community!!!'

Thankfully, Lord Offord from Reform said what I and no doubt others were thinking. 'How can we let them work when we don't know who most of them are, their backgrounds etc?'

This is what we're up against. Woke politicians who, I am convinced, do not want to sort this problem. They're happy for them to keep pouring in.

And why are we so keen to 'get them working' when we already have high levels of unemployment among our own people?

It was banned years ago
Wrong again.

Yes, bullfighting (corrida de toros) is still practiced in Spain, although its popularity is declining and it is a subject of intense controversy. While banned in the Canary Islands and previously in Catalonia (later overturned), it remains a legal tradition in most of the country, with major bullrings like Madrid and Seville still hosting events
Don't you ever get fed up of being wrong? :D

But that is just a diversion.

The main thrust of my comment was knowing about something does not equate with agreeing with it.
I indicated that I know that people make plans before starting the longest journey of their life into strange lands
You claimed I agree with them migrating to UK to claim asylum.
Wrong yet again!

It makes perfect economic sense to allow them to work.
If as you say, we don't know anything about them, allowing them to work will make no difference whatsoever.
Then you go onto to equate letting them work with being happy for them to come. You even resort to emotive phrases such as "woke politicians" and "pouring in".
Your comment was only an excuse for you to splurt out a tirade against asylum seekers.

Eh?

What roles would they be suitable for then? If we know nowt about their past, their mental history, any possible criminal record on their own country etc, what roles do we want them to fill?

The ones that are vacant because British workers don't want them.
I suspect the asylum seekers would welcome the opportunity to work and contribute to society.

Any role working with children obviously
Indigenous workers need a DBS check. If it's not possible to verify an asylum seeker could pass a DBS check, then they shouldn't be employed in that role.
I did say any role that indigenous workers didn't want to fill. I'm sure there's plenty of indigenous paedophiles wanting to work with children.
