Hi. Newbie here for help/advise please.

I want to be able to set my central heating boiler on remotely by iPhone and have found the Ideal Halo App and wondered if anybody had upgraded their Logic+ Combi C35 to the Ideal Halo Combi WiFi controller?

I’m worried about spending over £200 on it, and if it doesn’t work/fit, they won’t take it back for a refund if I’ve opened it.

The fact that I have the same aperture for the module and a plug and play connection at the back suggests it will take it, but I just want to be sure. I realise it has to be controlled by the Ideal Halo App from Apple.

I’ve attached some photos to make it easier for anyone who can help.

Many thanks in advance.

It seems like it might be, but have a look for your serial number (usually underneath on a sticker). See boiler compatibility on this screenshot

Thanks for this. This is my serial number so it looks like it is “too old” ? However, it refers to older models requiring a smart interface bracket, yet looking at mine, the interface looks as if it’s a straight swap with the current one on the front? Are there any measurements to confirm wifi model interface plate size to the current one in situ, because other than this, it suggests it would work.

I’ve no idea, as I haven’t fitted Halo’s. Had a look at this video and the smart interface seems to be wall mounted for older models

Thanks. All reference and videos refer to the standard Logic boilers. Mine is a Logic + which besides having a much longer warranty, it anlso has a more complex interface. Mine has a wifi green light on the interface which makes me think it might work as the Halo WiFi works on wWiFi. I think it uses the wifi to connect to my room controller. Anyway, Ive sent I’ve an email across to Ideal themselves and see if I can get a confirmation one way or the other from them.

Decided to go with Hive v4.
Be interesting to hear how it goes, I went for Drayton Wiser, and will admit I was not sure which to go for, getting info on how they work is like getting blood from a stone. How to wire up, easy, yes, loads of diagrams and advice, as to how to link TRV heads, wall thermostats etc, not quite so easy.
