Upstairs brick walls dont lineup with downstairs walls

Considering a loft conversion.
Noticed the upstairs brick walls supporting the ceilings don't lineup with downstairs walls.

Architect was more than suprised. One wall is offset by 2feet , the other by nearly 4 feet.

Anyone come across this b4 ?

Sounds like it's gonna be a nightmare to correct

I'm surprised that your Architect was surprised. Its quite common

You won't be able to use these for support of any beams
