Upstairs Hot Water

we have just moved into a house and have noticed that when you run the hot tap in the upstairs bathroom nothing comes out. then it spurts a little before a continuous trickle of hot water comes out. the hot water works fine downstairs it is just the upstairs bathroom that has an issue. has anyone any idea what the problem might be?

What sort of system is it.
Combi boiler?
Gravity system (large tank in loft)
I would guess its a gravity system with alot of air trapped in the hot pipe

I am pretty sure it is a gravity fed tank in attic setup, any suggestions on how to clear it?
