Hi guys. We had some work done on our house a couple of years ago, which included a bigger cold water tank in the loft, moving the hot water tank downstairs into the newly created utility room and the installation of a big shower pump to feed 2 showers also installed with hot water tank. The shower on the ground floor is great and turns on straight away, but when we originally had the new upstairs shower fitted, it used to take about 6-7 seconds for the pump to kick in and water to come through. This was fine as I put it down to the shower being on a higher floor than the pump. Unfortunately recently it has started taking up to 30-40 seconds to turn on. Once it is in, it is fine.

What could be making the delay get longer? I cannot see any signs of pipes leaking.

Thanks in advance.

Nick

Might be worth looking to see if there are any strainers / filters on the pump (may be?)

which may be restricting the intial start up flow to upstairs due to a lower pressure ??????????????

Take the head off the upstairs shower and see if it is any better with just the hose/open pipe.
If so, clean/descale/change the head.
If not, start looking for filters/strainers within the valve or pipework!
