Upvc door not opening/closing

Hi all. My first visit here but looks great!

Our back door is a uPVC multi-point locking door. I’m not sure if it’s been the recent heat or what but It now has an issue opening and closing.

You can’t close the door unless you put the key in and turn it more to the left to bring the locking latch thing further in. And the same for opening it. Even though it’s unlocked I can’t open the door unless I put the key in and turn more to the left so the locking latch is in enough to open the door.

any idea what I need to do?

Have you gone to town with the silicone spray to eliminate a sticking lock?

No? I can try and see if that helps but I’m not sure it’s sticking

I’m giving up on fixing this. I think I need to replace the mechanism

Have you checked the door has not dropped a bit? Then the latch might catch on the strike plate (and leave some marks). If it did, I'd try adjusting the hinges before touching the mechanism.

No? I can try and see if that helps but I’m not sure it’s sticking

Its always the first thing you should try , it's cheaper than a new lock if it works!
