I want to remove the handle from my sliding patio door. I think it is a Trojan Sparta 92PZ XL locking type although I am not 100% sure. The task looks straightforward until it is attempted! There is only one Allen key visible at the lower end of the indoor handle. This is easily undone but releases nothing. Obviously there is a second fixing but how is it accessed? In the location where one would expect to find it there is a circular blank but it does not seem to be removable. I have tried unscrewing it but to no avail. Trying to lever it out would obviously damage the golden coating and anyway there seems to be no small gap to insert a tiny tool. On the other side of the door there is no access to either fixing.

I have attached a pic to clarify.

Comments appreciated.

Normally they are held on by screws that go through the handle backplate on the inside and screw into the back of the backplate on the outside handle (.so you cant access them from outside ) . Have you tried prising out the blanking plate above the key? Also looks like one at the bottom, those are both the positions I'd expect to see the screws on a Sparta handle normally

Thanks for your comments. Below the key there is and Allen key socket - sorry it is obscured by the door key. That is OK. I can remove it but everything is still held firmly in place by the other fixing. Just above the locking lever there is an obvious circular feature that looks like it might conceal the second fixing but how does one remove it? I cannot get anything down the edge of it without causing damage and it will not unscrew?
