UPVC vs Aluminium - Which would you suggest please?

Hi Guys,

Another question with split responses no doubt but its always interesting to get peoples opinions. We're looking to put some sliding doors in our new extension and Im not sure which route to go down - UPVC or Aluminium?

Appreciate Alu is more expensive and you can get slight slimmer frames - all our windows are upvc in anthracite and so Im edging towards UPVC but thought I would see if there are any benefits to Alu from a general perspective as opposed to a sales man

How wide?

aluminium as you says gives narrower frames and can be made in larger panels. For me it would be down to return value. If you consider the extension moves your house in to a significantly higher sale price catchment, then you need to think about using more premium materials.

Sorry to phrase it like that - but posh windows for posh houses so to speak.
