Aluminium Vs Wood Vs UPVC

I am currently upgrading my house and was wondering the benefits of Aluminium. I have always renovated with Upvc in the past due to the price but am now in a home for the long term so want to fit the best. I have no experience with Aluminium nor Wooden frames with double glazed sealed units. Im not too keen on wood due to the upkeep so here is my wish list...
1:- Efficient in terms of heat loss
2:- Low maintenance
3:- Secure
