I've brought a couple or Bluetooth receivers which are usb powered. It was impossible to get them working at first.
I eventually got them working, but with a different usb socket - the same or lower ampage rating.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on here?

Maybe try with a non data cable. Just a power USB cable

They are they type that plug straight into the USB socket.
I tried without a usb extension in case that was the problem.

Usb a plug one end to usb c plug the other?

Some charges sense what's going on more than others. They are chargers not power supplies.
Maybe one of your chargers thinks the phone
( it's not a phone I know) Is charged as not pulling much power so switches off.

I have an alarm clock that's running off a phone charger. It don't work on some because it switches off.

Look up.

Differences between a USB power supply and a charger

It is a USB A integrated into the receiver.

I understand what you are saying about the power supply vs charger.

I wanted Bluetooth receiver because I've got a Bluetooth transmitter & receiver and I have to change over to receive every time I switch it on.
I thought it would be a simple case of swapping them, but the usb plug* that was working fine is the one that doesn't work properly.

...all puzzling so far.

(*and the type I have most of)
