Hello All,

PC in dining room, running Ubuntu 10.04. TalkTalk wireless N router there as well. Solwise Homeplug connected to router.

Sony Bravia in lounge, again with homeplug connected to it. Iplayer works fine.

How do I use the TV as a monitor (I'd like to play movies through the tv, as opposed to having to burn to disc and put in dvd player in lounge)? Do I need some more hardware, is it in the settings of the pc or TV, or is it not possible?

Thanks in advance :)

You need to set up a DNLA server on your PC. Probably one for Ubuntu somewhere, but not really my area of expertise. This might help you

On a good track, but my weak I.T. skills have stumped further progress :(
Apparently, Serviio is what I need, but I'm fudged as to how to install it - I have a more techy friend looking into it though.
Sony are well behind this, as it will enable better integration of home entertainment - they've even got "how to" guides on youtube. If only I could get the install working, I might be able to make use of 'em!
