Hello forum users,

After recently purchasing a 1960's teak dining table, we have promptly caused some speckled damage after food splatterings. I plan to restore these spots with restorative polish (with teak colour). I would then like to use some of that Melamine Lacquer. Does anyone know if this is safe to use on a teak table that has had teak oil on it?

Many thanks.

You cannot apply lacquer to any wood that has been oiled before without deep sanding.
