We only have a cold feed in the downstairs toilet. So with the combo tap can i just use one tail going into the cold feed ? Or will the water come out of the hot outlet tail ?

It is a mix mono bloc and we currently have a piece of copper coming up and then forming 2 forks. So the current set up does feed both hot and cold, but this is a little sink without any stand and so everything is visible and i would prefer just a clean single pipe going up the corner of the wall to feed the cold only. The cold feed is currently leaking (just discovered it this eve) and so i have capped it off and removed the fork and tails. Hence my new thinking when i get a new tail put back in.

Any idea why the tail has failed. It maybe that the tail was not screwed in far enough, but it has been ok for 7 years now and i reckon this has happened only recently.
