not sure if i am posting this question in the correct place.
because of a leak in my shower causing damp in the adjoining room,i have taken the cubicle out and now its down to brickwork. the wall will be rendered with additive to make it water resistant before i get shower wall installed.
as an extra precaution i wondered if it would be beneficial to apply a couple of coats of diluted pva to the brickwork before the rendering is put on to make it more water resistant.
i would be grateful for any advice.

PVA is used as a barrier to prevent suction. It is not used as a water resistant seal.
So it would be pointless using it, for that reason.
