Hi, I have a vailiant turbomax 242e and i am having problem with the hot water, the boiler works fine on central heating but will not work the hot water, i have changed the microswitch . If I press the microswitch manualy the hot water will work fine (sorry if it's a bit long winded).

Diaphragm failed I expect. Sometimes the lever which operates the microswitch breaks but thats rare.
They can be changed on their own but we always change the whole valve on that model as they can fail in other ways and commercially we have to give a proper guarantee which we cannot otherwise.
They can create difficulties whilst getting them out.
